Bonnie Davis had her uterus removed in 2012 with a surgical device called a power morcellator. The morcellator minces tissue for easy removal during minimally invasive surgery, but in some cases can spread undetected cancer. Davis said the procedure turned an early stage tumor into advanced cancer. She has undergone two operations since her hysterectomy to remove cancer that has spread.
